Prerequisites for Volunteer Firefighters:

The following guidelines must be adhered to before any person may be considered for the position of firefighter with the Boise City Volunteer Fire Department:

• • Said person must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
  • He /she must possess a valid Oklahoma drivers licenses.
  • He / she must be in good physical health.
  • He /she must live within ten (10) miles of the Town of Boise City, persons moving outside of the range will be removed from the fire department unless an exception is made upon recommendation of the chief and unanimous vote of the members.
  • He / she must submit to a probationary period of one year. The probationary period will be used to indoctrinate new firefighters in the policies and procedures of the fire department, use and maintenance of equipment, and training necessary to produce competent and professional volunteer firefighters.

Our volunteer firefighters participate in local school events during fire prevention week each year.
